Biography
Veronika Tanya is a 5th year medical student and doctoral candidate with a strong academic focus on internal medicine, infectious diseases and translational research. She is currently enrolled at DPU, Wiener Neustadt in Austria where she is involved in a retrospective clinical study on enterococcal bacteraemia since 2024, including cases with and without infective endocarditis. Her work contributes the database development and running statistical analyses. In parallel she is undertaking a research project at the University of Muenster in Germany since 2025, in the field of translational rheumatology, investigating the role of the microbiome in systemic autoimmune diseases. Tanya is fluent in English, German and Russian, and also speaks French and Arabic. She is currently learning Korean. She has a strong interest in international collaboration in medical research and work across different healthcare systems and research environments, shaped by her multicultural background
