Doctor Joseph B Muhlestein

Dr. Joseph Brent Muhlestein is an academic interventional cardiologist practicing at Intermountain Medical Center, Intermountain Health in Murray, Utah, where he is the Associate Director of Cardiovascular Research. He is also a Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1984. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship training at Duke University in 1991, after which he joined the Duke University faculty for one year. In 1992, he moved to Intermountain Health and has been there ever since. His areas of expertise include coronary interventions and general cardiology. His areas of research emphasize interventional cardiology and primary and secondary cardiovascular prevention. He and his wife of 46 years have 11 children and 34 grandchildren. He loves photography and travel. Besides English, he also speaks Korean.
