Biography
Yanxia (Teresa) Tu is a cardiac surgery postgraduate student at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), where her training began following the completion of her medical studies at Peking Union Medical College (Tsinghua University School of Medicine). Her research focuses on several intersecting areas of cardiovascular science, including stem cell culture and cardiomyocyte differentiation, cardiac regeneration, regulatory T cells (Treg), autoimmune myocarditis, and ex vivo cardiac slice culture — work that positions her at the frontier of regenerative cardiology. Outside of research, Teresa is an avid ice hockey player and enjoys dancing, hiking, and gardening. She is a native Chinese speaker with professional proficiency in English, and a basic knowledge of both Japanese and German.
