Biography
Samira Bell is a clinical academic nephrologist specialising in data‑driven research using large‑scale routine healthcare data to improve understanding of kidney and cardiovascular disease. Prior to her appointment at the University of St Andrews, she was a Clinical Reader at the University of Dundee and an Honorary Consultant Nephrologist at Ninewells Hospital.
Her research focuses on acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease, with particular emphasis on multimorbidity and health inequalities. She uses population‑scale health data to characterise disease trajectories and generate evidence to inform clinical practice and health policy.
