Biography
Robert O. Bonow, MD, MS is the Goldberg Distinguished Professor of Cardiology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He has authored or co-authored over 650 papers in the medical literature and 120 book chapters. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of JAMA Cardiology and is one of the editors of Braunwald’s Heart Disease: A Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Bonow is a past president of the American Heart Association, a Master of the American College of Cardiology and a Master of the American College of Physicians. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award, Distinguished Achievement Award, Gold Heart Award, and James B. Herrick Award of the American Heart Association; the Distinguished Fellowship Award, Distinguished Service Award and Distinguished Scientist Award of the American College of Cardiology; the Denolin Award of the European Society of Cardiology; and the John Phillips Memorial Award of the American College of Physicians.
