Mr Aamir Wahhab
Montreal (Canada)
Biography
Aamir Wahhab is a medical student at McGill University with a background in translational research in cardiometabolic disease and heart failure. He completed graduate training at the University of Toronto, where he studied rare neuromuscular disorders at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).
He is currently involved in clinical and biomarker-driven research at the McGill University Health Centre under the supervision of Dr. Abhinav Sharma, focusing on the interplay between metabolic disease, inflammation, and heart failure outcomes. His work aims to better understand how biological pathways shape disease progression and to identify patient subgroups that may benefit from more precise approaches to cardiovascular care.
Aamir is interested in pursuing a clinician-investigator career integrating translational research with clinical practice. He is particularly drawn to translating biological insight into care to better define disease heterogeneity and personalize treatment.
