Biography
Sarah Paterson is an undergraduate student in the Department of Physiology at the University of Alberta, pursuing an Honours degree in Physiology with academic interests in women’s health and exercise physiology. Since 2023, she has served as a research assistant with the iCARE Lab, contributing to exercise testing, training interventions, and data analysis. Beginning in 2025, she initiated an Honours thesis investigating the effects of an exercise training intervention on older breast cancer survivors. She has also assisted with research examining body composition in endometrial cancer survivors. Sarah is actively involved in student leadership as Co-President of the Undergraduate Physiology Students’ Association and Vice President Internal of the Interdisciplinary Women’s Health Association. Outside of her academic work, she enjoys fitness, coaching gymnastics, and testing high-protein recipes. Sarah speaks both English and French.
