Professor Naureen Starling MBBS, BSc (Hons), MD(Res) FRCP Professor Naureen Starling is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden specialising in treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, Director of the Royal Marsden Clinical Trials Unit and Professor of Medical Oncology at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Professor Starling graduated from University College London with first-class honours in Physiology (BSc), and distinctions in Clinical Pharmacology/Therapeutics and Pathology. Completing general medical training in London, her specialist training in Medical Oncology was at The Royal Marsden with her doctorate at The ICR. Her research interests are focused on precision oncology in GI cancer leveraging novel therapeutics and technologies. She received a prestigious UK NIHR Research Professorship 5-year award in Jan 2025 to support her current programme of research focused on establishing clinical validity and utility of ctDNA liquid biopsies for GI cancer
