Paul Evans is a vascular biologist who has published >110 papers (>6300 citations; Scopus h-index=38). Evans was appointed Chair in Cardiovascular Science at the University of Sheffield in 2011, and has had British Heart Foundation program grant funding since 2013. His work has been recognised by the award of the Medawar Medal (British Transplantation Society), John French Lecture (British Atherosclerosis Society) and Michael Davies Award (British Cardiovascular Society). Evans’ group have won numerous prestigious awards and ten of them have progressed to faculty positions. Evans was elected ESC Fellow in 2015 and joined the Basic Science Council in 2018. He was recently appointed to the Board of NC3Rs and is actively involved in public engagement around animal research. His was recently elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology.
