Biography
Cardiac Nurse Specialist, Inherited Cardiac Conditions – West of Scotland
Helena is a Cardiac Nurse Specialist within the West of Scotland Inherited Cardiac Conditions Service. She is leading on a British Heart Foundation–funded project focused on improving care pathways and services for individuals and families affected by sudden cardiac death (SCD) and out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) nationally across Scotland.
In her role, Helena supports families following SCD and OHCA, coordinates specialist multidisciplinary care, and service development on a national scale. Prior to joining the inherited cardiac conditions team, she worked in cardiothoracic intensive care, gaining extensive experience in the management of complex cardiac patients.
Helena’s clinical background, combined with her expertise in service improvement and bereavement support, underpins her commitment to delivering compassionate, person‑centred care for patients and families. She is passionate about improving aware
