Doctor Jessica Bernier

Biography
Mrs. Bernier has been a registered nurse since 2012. She has worked primarily as an intensive care nurse in the emergency department of a cardiology institute, in a tertiary care centre, and then in remote and northern regions. She obtained her doctorate in 2024 and has received several awards of excellence and scholarships, including two from the Fonds de recherche en santé du Québec. She completed a Canada-wide fellow postdoctoral in primary care (2021-2022) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in preventive cardiology (2025). Her research focuses on access to and equity in preventive cardiovascular health services in remote areas of Quebec, as well as the development of programs and pathways of care in collaboration with tertiary care centres. She has been teaching at the university for 9 years as a lecturer in nursing.
