Biography
Dr Monika Gladka is an Associate Professor and Principal Investigator at the University Medical Center in Amsterdam. Her current research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate cardiac repair to identify novel targets for developing advanced treatments. Her work employs experimental disease modeling and exploring gene therapies for inherited and acquired heart conditions. She is actively involved in several cardiac societies. She serves as a nucleus member of the Working Group on Cardiovascular Regenerative and Reparative Medicine (CARE) within the ESC and as a council member of the European section of International Society of Heart Research (ISHR). Additionally, she holds editorial roles, including Associate Editor for the Journal of Molecular Therapy, Social Media Editor for the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, and member of the editorial boards for Physiological Reviews and Circulation Research.
