Doctor Guilherme Attizzani

Dr. Attizzani did his Interventional training at Dante Pazzanese Institute in Brazil. He then came to University Hospitals Imaging Core Lab where he served as a Research Associate for 2.5 years when he published several papers on Intravascular Imaging assessment of stent vessel interactions utilizing OCT. In 2012 Dr. Attizzani went to the University of Catania, Italy to do a Structural Heart Interventions Clinical Fellowship where he stayed for 2 years. He then moved back to Cleveland and became the Director of the Valve and Structural Heart Center at University Hospitals. Under his leadership, they had unparalleled growth over the last decade of 600% in the volume of TAVRs. Dr. Attizzani created the transcatheter mitral valve intervention center and UH is amongst the 25 top centers (out of ~ 500)in the US on MitraClip volume and one of the busiest LAAOs program in the US. Dr. Attizzani has published > 150 papers and is currently the national PI of the RESTORE study (TAV in TAV).
