Biography
Dr. Jostein Rødseth Brede, MD PhD, is a consultant anaesthesiologist at St. Olav’s University Hospital (Trondheim, Norway), a senior researcher at the Norwegian Air Ambulance Foundation and a rescue helicopter physician in the 330 squadron, Norwegian Air Force. Dr. Brede’s research centers on out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and the use of resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA). Brede is the principal investigator and project lead of the multicenter REBOARREST clinical trial, which investigates the safety and efficacy of deploying REBOA during cardiopulmonary resuscitation to improve neurological and survival outcomes.
