Marjolein Piek is a PhD student in biomedical engineering, working closely with clinical teams on fetal cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) since 2019. Originally from the Netherlands, she moved to Denmark in 2017 and now lives in Sweden, where she conducts interdisciplinary research alongside medical professionals. Her work bridges engineering and healthcare, with a focus on CMR imaging in both a fetal and pediatric populations. In September 2026 I will defend my PhD thesis and I am currently looking for a new adventure in the Nordic countries. Fluent in Dutch and English, she navigates daily life in Swedish. Outside of research, Marjolein enjoys spending time outdoors and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
