Biography
Alan Poggio completed his medical degree in March 2025 in Turin, Italy, after a final semester spent between Paris (Bobigny) and Vancouver General Hospital—writing his thesis somewhere between a croissant on the Champs-Élysées and a walk through Stanley Park.
Since October 2025, he has been a resident at the University of Turin, where he focuses on atrial fibrillation and cardiac arrhythmias, with a specific interest in anticoagulation and heart failure, under the supervision of Professor Matteo Anselmino.
Outside the hospital, he alternates between attempting to faithfully recreate his Italian grandmother’s recipes (with variable success), running, skiing, swimming, and attending concerts or cinema screenings. He has a strong interest in languages and enjoys moving between Italian, French, German, and English—sharing his enthusiasm for cardiology in whichever language the moment requires.
