Professor Elisabeth Botelho-Nevers is a medical doctor, full professor in Infectious diseases, head of the Infectious diseases department of the University Hospital of Saint-Etienne, France. She works on prevention of infections for many years and notably in vaccinology. She leads the clinical vaccine development unit of the CIC 1408 Inserm. With her team she conducted many vaccine trials since 2012 as principal investigator and coordinator of trials including at national level. She is part of the GIMAP/CIRI Lab Inserm, U1111, CNRS, UMR530, and conducts translational research in the field of vaccines, notably mucosal vaccines in collaboration with colleagues immunologists and microbiologists. With her team, she also works for ten years on acceptability of new and in development vaccines at the PreVacCI University Chair of the PRESAGE Institute, University Jean Monnet. She coordonates the clinical vaccine development teaching unit of the Erasmus Mundus Plus LIVE Master.
