Biography
Jacqueline L. Hay is a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Vanier Scholar and a Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Her doctoral research focuses on identifying inequities in participation in cardiac rehabilitation. She also works to enhance risk assessment and physical activity strategies for individuals living with or at risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Her work bridges clinical research, health equity, and knowledge translation, with a strong focus on community engagement and real-world impact. Nationally, she served as the CIHR Institutes of Gender and Health Trainee Lead from 2021 to 2024, supporting efforts to integrate sex and gender considerations across disciplines. As an active member of the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance, she collaborates to develop strategies to improve cardiovascular outcomes for women across Canada.
