Biography
Dr. Higuchi is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Research Division for Heart Rhythm Management at Tokyo Women’s Medical University (TWMU), Japan. He earned his MD from Tohoku University and his PhD from TWMU. From 2020 to 2023, he conducted research at the University of California, San Francisco, USA. His research focuses on arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, atrial remodeling, pulsed field ablation, and complex supraventricular tachycardia. Dr. Higuchi has authored over 90 peer-reviewed papers, many published in high-impact journals, with more than half as the first or corresponding author. He has received several prestigious awards, including the 2020 Japanese Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) YIA, the 2022 HRS (USA) YIA, the 2023 Cardiac Electrophysiology Society (USA) YIA, and the 2024 JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology Young Achievement Award. Dr. Higuchi also actively contributes to the Japan International Young Community, the Japanese HRS, and the Asian-Pacific HRS.
