Bachelor’s degree in Biology (2013, University of Granada), Master’s degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Genetic Biotechnology (2015, University of Córdoba), and PhD in Health Sciences (2021, University of Castilla-La Mancha), awarded with international distinction and the highest grade Summa Cum Laude. After completing my doctoral studies, I joined Dr. Enrique Lara Pezzi’s group (Molecular Regulation of Heart Failure) at the Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (CNIC) as a postdoctoral researcher. During this stage, I was awarded two highly competitive postdoctoral fellowships funded by the Government of Spain and the European Union’s Next Generation EU program (Margarita Salas, 2022; Juan de la Cierva, 2023) to investigate the influence of Tbx20 truncation, a gene involved in cardiac development, on the progression of heart failure.

Unveiling the effects of a Tbx20 truncating variant in dilated cardiomyopathy: insights from a new mouse model

Event: ESC Congress 2025

Topic: Cardiomyopathies

Session: Molecular mechanisms and remodelling in cardiomyopathies: from genes to phenotype
