Biography
Dr. Roman Tikhomirov is a Research Associate at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He commenced his PhD in 2018 at Verona University, in collaboration with Imperial College London and Policlinico San Donato, Milan. During his doctoral training, he investigated the paracrine regulation of cardiac fibrosis, publishing four high-impact, peer-reviewed manuscripts. His work was presented at international conferences, contributing to advances in cardiovascular research. In 2023, Dr. Tikhomirov joined Professor Alicia D'Souza’s group as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Manchester, where he studied the circadian biology of ventricular tachyarrhythmias, resulting in a publication in Circulation Research. In 2024 he joined the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. His current research focuses on sinoatrial node dysfunction related to ageing, inflammation, athletic training, and circadian rhythms
