Biography
Dr. Lucija Cosic, originally from Macedonia, immigrated to Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2018 to pursue a renowned medical degree at the University of Groningen. During her medical training, she became involved in the research group of Prof. A.A. Voors at the University Medical Center Groningen, which focuses on multi-omic approaches to uncover the pathophysiology of heart failure and identify novel therapeutic targets. Lucija completed both her bachelor’s and master’s theses under the supervision of Prof. A.A. Voors. After graduating from medical school, she began a full-time PhD in December 2024 within the same research group. Her current research focuses on the interactions between heart failure and chronic kidney disease, and she is co-supervised by Dr. J. ter Maaten. In her free time, Lucija enjoys visiting art galleries, travelling, and playing tennis.
