Prof (Dr.) Tyagi is an eminent medical teacher & renowned Interventional Cardiologist of India . After completing his medical education and Cardiology fellowship from the most prestigious Medical Institutes of this country ,he joined as faculty in Dept. of Cardiology, G B Pant PG Medical Institute,Delhi in 1986. In 2004 he became Head of Cardiology Department . He later became Director of this Medical Institute and Dean of Maulana Azad Medical College , New Delhi, India . In 2019 he became the Director General of Health Services in Govt. of India . Currently he is Senior Consultant, Academic Advisor (HOD) and Clinical Lead Cardiology of Apollo Hospital Group, North India. He is current President of Cardiological Society of India . He has been pioneer in this country in developing Interventional Cardiology since 1985 especially coronary & vascular Interventions. He is recipient of several National & International Awards & has over 300 Research publications in indexed journals .
