Dr. Stavroula N. Psychari was born in Sparta, Greece. In 1988 she received her Medical Degree from Aristotelian University, Thessaloniki. She trained in Cardiology at Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, a tertiary hospital with strong academic orientation. She received the ‘Cardiology Specialist’ Boards in 1996 and awarded a Doctorate Degree for her thesis entitled: “Cardiac denervation after radiofrequency ablation of supraventricular tachycardias” from Athens University in 1999. She has a specialist qualification for Interventional Cardiology granted from the Greek Ministry of Health. In 1996 she worked at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, UK. From 2000 she has a position as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Interventional Electrophysiologist at Nikea General Hospital, Athens, where she performed complex coronary interventions and implantation of pacemakers and ICD devices. Research interests: AF physiology, pacing, CAD. She loves alpinism, long distance running and literature
