Miss Sashi Kiran Mahapatra

Sashi Kiran is a PhD researcher in Artificial Intelligence for Medical Diagnosis and Care at the University of Leeds, focusing on using AI to predict heart failure from multimodal primary care data, with equal attention to clinical relevance and technical rigour. Her work spans the full arc of applied health AI: from data engineering and cohort definition through to clinical validation. Before her PhD, she held research and industry roles across healthtech, finance, and fundamental science, giving her a cross-disciplinary perspective on embedding AI into cardiovascular care pathways. A regular speaker at public forums on AI in medicine, she has presented at the ESC Heart Failure Congress, the Royal College of Radiologists Global AI Conference, and CBMS, with a paper accepted in IEEE. Outside research, she is at her best when her creative spirit has room to breathe, and brings that same energy equally to a clinical discussion and a research lab.
