Doctor Yook Chin Chia

Professor Chia is a primary care hypertension specialist and was the past president of the Malaysian Society of Hypertension, She remains a current Council member and also has been a member of the Society's clinical practice guidelines on the management of hypertension for all its editions. Dr Chia is also the past chair of the International Society of Hypertension's Asia Pacific Regional Group and remains as an active member of the group. She is also a member of the HOPE-Asia Network, a group of hypertension specialists from Asia who have developed several consensus on the management of hypertension in Asia. She recently founded the Malaysian Society for World Action on Salt, Sugar and Health (MyWASSH) focusing on reduction of salt intake. Dr Chia's main research area is on hypertension and is recognised as one of the top 2% most cited scientists in the world for many years.
