Biography
Kentaro Hayashida, MD, PhD is an interventional cardiologist and currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine II at Kansai Medical University (as of April 2026). Dr. Hayashida earned both his MD and PhD from Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo. He completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology at ICPS (Institut Cardiovasculaire Paris Sud), Massy, France. Prior to his current position, he served as Director of the Transcatheter Heart Valve Program and the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Keio University. He is the founder and chairman of the OCEAN-SHD family and also the founder and course director of PCR Tokyo Valves. Dr. Hayashida specializes in transcatheter heart valve therapies, including: TAVI, MTEER, TTEER, and TTVR, as well as other structural heart and coronary interventions. His research focuses on clinical outcomes of transcatheter heart valve therapies and interventions for structural heart disease.
