Doctor Maria Bachlitzanaki

Maria N. Bachlitzanaki, MD, MSc, PhD, is an Internist and Consultant at Venizelio General Hospital of Heraklion, Greece, with clinical expertise in hypertension, cardio-metabolic diseases, oncology, and infections in immunocompromised patients. She co-leads the hospital’s Hypertension Clinic and has a strong research interest in cardiorenal syndrome and cardiovascular risk. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented extensively in national and international conferences, receiving multiple awards for oral presentations. She also serves as a certified reviewer for MDPI journals and contributes to scientific meetings and educational activities within her institution, actively involved in resident training and scientific education. Dr. Bachlitzanaki is fluent in English and French, with additional knowledge of Portuguese and Spanish. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling and family activities and is a mother of two sons.
