Dr. Legrand is a clinician-scientist specializing in critical care medicine and anesthesiology. His research interests encompass the pathophysiology and treatment of sepsis, acute kidney injury, and outcomes following major surgery. His ultimate goal is to mitigate both the short- and long-term consequences of critical illnesses or major surgery. Dr. Legrand completed his postgraduate training in Anesthesiology and Critical Care in Paris, France. In 2012, he received a Ph.D. in Cardiovascular Physiology from Sorbonne Paris Cité University. Currently, he is a Professor and Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care at the University of California, San Francisco. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Legrand enjoys practicing karate, mountain biking, skiing, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
