Mr Tyler Artner

Tyler Artner is a medical scientist at the Medical University of Vienna with expertise in vascular biology, inflammation, and cell-free DNA (cfDNA) diagnostics. Working within the Anna Spiegel Center of Translational Research, he investigates the molecular mechanisms driving thromboinflammatory cardiovascular diseases, including myocardial infarction, stroke, and pulmonary embolism. His research focuses on cfDNA as a biomarker and effector molecule in vascular injury, exploring its release through neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs), its degradation by nucleases, and its role in modulating immune responses and vascular remodeling. He integrates molecular and cellular techniques with systems-level approaches to develop cfDNA-based tools across diverse cardiovascular conditions.
