Professor Harlan Krumholz

Harlan M. Krumholz, MD, SM, is a cardiologist, scientist, educator, and editor at Yale University He is the Harold H. Hines, Jr. Professor of Medicine at Yale. He founded and directs the Yale Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation. His work focuses on improving the quality, equity, and outcomes of health care; advancing cardiovascular outcomes research and health policy; promoting open science and patient empowerment; and applying digital technologies, data science, and artificial intelligence to clinical care and research. He has authored more than 1,600 scientific articles, has been named one of the world’s 100 most-cited scientists, and his H-index exceeds 240. He co-founded the Yale University Open Data Access (YODA) Project and medRxiv. In 2024, he became Editor-in-Chief of JACC, the flagship journal of the ACC. He is a member of the US National Academy of Medicine and a Distinguished Scientist of the American Heart Association.
