Professor Canan Nebigil

CNRS, Strasbourg (France)

Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Canan NEBIGIL is a Director of Research at CNRS. Her general research interest relays on role of G protein coupled receptors in cardiovascular system and metabolism. She has already established role of serotonin receptor and prokineticin receptor in cardiovascular development and diseases. She obtained her PhD in pharmacology at the University of Tennessee, USA and a postdoctoral training with Pr. R. Lefkowitz (2012 Nobel laureate) and Pr. JR. Raymond at Duke University. She then worked at National Institute of Health in USA, and at IGBMC in Illkirch, south of Strasbourg, France. She received ATIP/AVENIR young scientist research award to create her group at ESBS, Illkirch. Her lab aims to understand how prokineticin receptors impact on cardiac regeneration and protection against heart failure. She has obtained 2 prizes (FRM and European Society of Cardiology) on her work related with role of prokineticin receptors in cardiovascular system. She has been a member of Laboratory of excelle
