Biography
Everlien is a nurse scientist and epidemiologist with a background in clinical nursing. She works as a senior palliative care researcher with a focus on both heart failure and cancer. Her research activities focus on multidimensional (physical, psychological, social and existential) symptoms and concerns and improvement of interprofessional care to patients with incurable illness and their families at home and the implementation in clinical practice to optimize impact. As a methodologist, with expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, she has a special interest in implementation science and the use of new methodologies in research studies to optimize power and impact of results. Collaboration with patient(representatives), informal caregivers, clinicians, and researchers is the core of her work, with special attention to optimize patient representation to inspire new research projects, optimize the quality of research and improve impact for all projects.
