Biography
AT-H is chief Physician at Dept. of Clinical Biochemistry, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University Hospital, Denmark (1999). Clinical Professor of Clinical Biochemistry (Translational Molecular Cardiology) University of Copenhagen (2009).
Graduated as medical doctor from the University of Copenhagen in 1981. Board certified as a specialist in Clinical Biochemistry 1996. Scientific education; 7 years total, whereof 3 years (87-89) at British Heart Foundation’s Molecular Biology Research Group, London, UK.
AT-H’s research has focused on the genetics of cardiovascular disease in large prospective studies of the general population. Recent focus areas include Mendelian randomization, polygenic risk scores, and amyloidosis.
AT-H is a current member of the steering committees of the Copenhagen City Heart Study and the Copenhagen General Population Study, and Executive Editor for European Heart Journal (2020-).
Honors include among others: The EAS Anitschkow Prize (2018).
