I recognised that the programmes and goals of the national Centre for Sustainable Delivery, NHS Scotland, very closely aligned with my values and my desire to reform and redesign the NHS in Scotland. I believe this will allow us to begin to sustainably manage the expanding clinical workload we had from both before and after the pandemic from the point of view of clinical sustainability, and environmental sustainability.
My experience working across NHS Acute Care, with my education in the management of healthcare improvement and leadership as a Health Foundation GenerationQ Fellow gave me the desire to make a difference in my work as National Associate Clinical Director in the Centre for Sustainable Delivery.
I am now working in a multi-disciplinary team with wide reach across the NHS in Scotland, but also with a clear focus on service reform and redesign to ensure that we utilise our services effectively and to deliver for our patients and staff.
