Biography
Melinda McKeddie qualified as a Registered Nurse in NHS Ayrshire and Arran in 1992. Her background has been predominantly cardiology centred, encompassing the acute and rehabilitation areas of the speciality. Since 2003 she has been an Advanced Cardiac Nurse Specialist, firstly with cardiac rehabilitation, then chest pain assessment and laterally moving to the Community Heart Failure Nurse Service in 2012. Since December 2021, she has been the lead nurse in a Scottish Government funded project to help develop and pilot a pathway for patients with Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF). She has found this both challenging and rewarding and hopes that this service will be able to continue for this patient group.
