Ana Iribarren, MD Research Scientist I Research Scientist Center faculty on studies of sex differences in heart disease. She joined Cedars-Sinai in November 2021 from the Instituto Cardiovascular de Buenos Aires in her home country of Argentina, where she is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine. Among other projects in 2022, Dr. Iribarren co-authored a study of sex-based differences in aortic stenosis (narrowing), which looked at knowledge gaps, as well as a study examining the importance of including more women in clinical trials. Dr. Iribarren joined her colleagues in a new pilot study using novel MRI on vascular inflammation in the aorta, the main artery that carries blood from the heart, and its relationship with coronary dysfunction. She is also collaborating as a co-investigator in several studies investigating different aspects of coronary microvascular disease, such as WARRIOR, MISSION, WISE-CVD, and WISE preHFpEF.
