Michael is a trainee Neprhologist and currently completing a DPhil at the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) on the genetics of blood pressure in the Mexico City Prospective Study. His DPhil focusses on the genetic determinants of blood pressure and consequence of its elevation at the population level. Michael completed a BA in molecular biology, focussing on genetics as part of his medical degree. He obtained his MRCP(UK) in 2016 and completed his MSc in Global Health Science in 2018. He has taken time out of his Nephrology and General Medicine training to undertake his DPhil. During his DPhil, he has enjoyed teaching MSc and medical students and has undertaked futher training to become an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Association (AFHEA). During his free time Michael enjoys reading, running and cooking.
