Biography
Dr. Ekaterina Stellbrink completed her medical studies at the Ural State Medical Academy (Yekaterinburg, Russia) and obtained her doctoral degree in medicine in 2004. Following residency training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in Russia, she continued her academic and clinical career in Germany as a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Cardiac Society at RWTH Aachen University Hospital, focusing on interventional cardiology. She subsequently worked in cardiac surgery at the Schüchtermann Clinic, gaining expertise in perioperative and structural heart imaging. Since 2014, she has been involved in cardiovascular imaging and clinical research at University Hospital OWL, Bielefeld, where she currently heads the Echocardiography Laboratory and Interventional Echocardiography. Dr. Stellbrink is an elected core member of the DGK Working Group on Cardiovascular Ultrasound, with particular interests in HCM, imaging standardization, valvular heart disease
