Biography
Since the beginning of her scientific career, her research has focused on the study of the cardiovascular system. she has mainly explored anatomical, embryological, and cellular and molecular aspects of congenital cardiac diseases. She started as a trainee student during my BSc period, and continued with MSc training, predoctoral training (Funding: PRE2018-083176) and first postdoctoral position (Funding: II Plan Propio UMA) at the University of Malaga (Malaga, Spain). She has researched on the aetiology and physiopathology of the bicuspid aortic valve and related pathologies, such as ascending aortic dilatation and anomalies in the origin of coronary arteries. Currently, she has a postdoctoral position (Funding: JDC2023-051982-I) at the Spanish National Centre for Cardiovascular Research-CNIC (Madrid, Spain), working on the aetiology of cardiomyopathies such as hypertrophy and dilated cardiomyopathy from a molecular developmental perspective.
