Biography
Ko Ko Maung is a physician and postdoctoral researcher at Unisanté, University of Lausanne. His research covers cardiovascular epidemiology, cardiometabolic biomarkers and the development and validation of cardiovascular risk prediction models. His doctoral work examined circulating acylcarnitines as early markers of cardiometabolic risk in the population-based CoLaus|PsyCoLaus cohort, spanning adiposity, inflammation, incident diabetes and chronic kidney disease. He currently leads the external validation and recalibration of SCORE2 and SCORE2-Asia across European, Latin American and Asian cohorts. He obtained his MBBS from the University of Medicine 1, Yangon, and his MD and PhD from the University of Lausanne, and is registered with the General Medical Council. He serves as Junior Deputy Editor at the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology and as EAPC Young Ambassador for Switzerland.
