Biography
Sigrun Halvorsen is Professor of Cardiology at University of Oslo and Head of the Department of Cardiology at Oslo University Hospital Ullevål, Norway. She is a Fellow of the ESC, member of the ESC Committee for Practice Guidelines 2018-2022, and Treasurer of the Association for Acute Cardiovascular Care 2022-2026. Professor Halvorsen was the chair of the 2022 ESC guidelines on cardiovascular assessment and management of patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery. She has also been co-author of several previous ESC guidelines and ESC position papers. She has also served on steering committees for numerous international trials in cardiology, particularly in the field of antithrombotic and lipid lowering treatment. Her main research areas are ACS, atrial fibrillation, antithrombotic and lipidlowering therapy, as well as secondary prevention, and she has published more than 300 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
