Micheál is a Lecturer in Nursing at Ulster University. His teaching focuses on pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and evidence-informed practice. He is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice and is working toward Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
Micheál holds an MSc in Advanced Professional Practice (Critical and Acute Care Nursing) from Queen’s University Belfast and a BSc in Adult Nursing from the University of East Anglia. His clinical background includes acute cardiology and pre and post cardiac procedural care, where he served as a deputy charge nurse and member of the cardiac arrest team.
He is an Immediate Life Support Instructor with the Resuscitation Council UK. Micheál is also an active member of the European Society of Cardiology, in his role as Young Community (YoCo) Committee member for the Association of Cardiovascular Nurses and Allied Professions.
