Biography
David Messika-Zeitoun is Full Professor of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and at the School of Epidemiology and Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa. He completed his medical training in Paris, France, and is a non-interventional cardiologist with specialization in echocardiography. His primary clinical and research focus is valvular heart disease.
He has developed several large prospective registries, including COFRASA, GENERAC, TRIGISTRY, and MITRACURE, has participated in multiple randomized controlled trials, and has contributed to the development of novel percutaneous therapies for valvular heart disease. He joined the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in January 2018, where he serves as Director of the Valve Program and Director of the Heart Valve Mobile Screening Program (One Million Canadian Hearts).
