Associate Professor Justin Zachariah

Dr. Justin Zachariah is an Associate Professor in Pediatric Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital where he serves a clinician-scientist in pediatric preventive cardiology, congenital heart disease, and vascular medicine. He was privileged to be the first pediatric cardiology-trained research fellow in a collaboration between the Framingham Heart Study and Boston Children’s Hospital where he was trained in analysis of circulating biomarkers of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), arterial stiffness, ASCVD and genetic epidemiology. Dr. Zachariah obtained a Master’s in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. He has innovatively adapted this adult-based training into peer-reviewed work on pediatric hypertension, pediatric dyslpidemia, arterial stiffness, circulating biomarkers in ASCVD or congenital heart disease subgroups, population epidemiology, cost-effectiveness analysis, Mendelian randomization, and clinical trials.
