Dr J Tomson qualified as a physician in 1999 and completed specialist training in Cardiology in 2015 (CCT Cardiology) after undertaking Cardiovascular research and epidemiology training at Oxford (MD). He is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Free London Hospitals and an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at UCL Medical School, London.
His specialist interests include cardiac rhythm management, cardiac device therapy (cardiac resynchronisation therapy, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators), heart failure, cardiomyopathies, blackouts, dizziness, palpitations and syncope. He also has expertise in cardiovascular imaging, cardiovascular research including epidemiology and drug trials. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London (FRCP), and is a certified cardiac device specialist (IBHRE). He conducts cardiovascular research (publications indexed in Pubmed) and teaches medical students at UCL, London.
