Rienzi Díaz-Navarro, graduated as Cardiologist at Catholic University of Chile in 1983. Later, he spent three years as a researcher and clinical assistant at Hammmersmith Hospital, RPMS, University of London. In 2014, he completed a Master's Degree in Medical Sciences/Cellular and Molecular Biology and was elected Director of the Department of Internal Medicine, Universidad de Valparaíso. In 2015, he became a Full Professor. In the early 80s, Professor Díaz-Navarro was one of the pioneers of the use of echocardiography in Chile. Regarding clinical research, he is dedicated to the study of non-invasive cardiac images in ACS and HF. He also conducts research on the phenomenon of ischemia-reperfusion in the cellular and animal model. He is a visiting professor at several universities around the world. He has published many articles in peer review journals, book chapters and two books on Echocardiography and Cardiac Doppler. He is a member of several Scientific Societies.
