Mr Bart Scheenaerts

Bart is an ESC Patient Forum member, contributing to patient-centered advocacy and clinical guidelines. He co-authored the 2024 Hypertension and Elevated Blood Pressure Guidelines. His perspective is shaped by lived experience of multimorbidity, including obesity, orthopaedic complexity, and an acute aortic dissection in 2020, followed by stroke and partial vision loss. He focuses on improving and innovating healthcare to better address patient pathways, long-term management, and care coordination across conditions, with an emphasis on practical, patient-centered innovation. He operates at the intersection of patients, the medical and academic community, and industry, bringing a cross-domain perspective to initiatives across prevention and treatment. He supports organizations in digital and data-driven transformation. He holds an Executive MBA and is currently pursuing an MSc in Information Management & Enterprise Architecture.
