Professor Girish Madhavan Nair

Dr. Girish Nair is an Electrophysiologist and currently serves as the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Arrhythmia service in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He is a Full Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. He is also cross appointed from the Department of Medicine to the School of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Ottawa. Dr. Nair is a clinician-researcher and his current research focus is on quantitative research methods for outcomes research in Atrial Fibrillation, Sudden Cardiac Death and Ventricular tachycardia. He is leading clinical trials funded by CIHR evaluating treatment strategies for Atrial Fibrillation. Dr. Nair’s clinical focus is on complex ablations including Atrial Fibrillation, Ventricular Tachycardia and arrhythmias in the adult congenital heart disease population. He is a primary panel member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Atrial Fibrillation guidelines.
