Biography
Dr. Cosme Garcia, MD, PhD, FESC, Head of the Cardiology Department at the Heart Institute ol Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (2025), before that, Chief of Acute Cardiac Care Unit (2015). Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2021--). Degree in Medicine and Surgery in 1998 at the University of Barcelona, specialization in Cardiology and Doctorate in Medicine, graduating cum laude (2013). He holds European certification from the ACCA. He enriched his expertise with Diploma in Health Sciences Statistics (2006), and Master’s Degrees in Acute Cardiac Care (2014) and Master in Direction and Management of Clinical Units (2017). He has directed 8 doctoral theses, authored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, more than 280 scientific communications, and leadership in multiple competitive research projects, including grants from the Carlos III Health Institute. Cardiogenic shock, myocardial infartion and cardiovascular epidemiology are his research areas.
